It is time to prepare for summer and fall classes.  You received a pre-registration card this week.  If you would please fill out the card and return it to me along with the $10.00 registration fee by April 18th, you will be entered to win FREE Tuition for the 2018/2019 School Year!  The drawing will be held April 21st at our Open House.  You do not have to be present to win.  This past year our winner was Jolie Jones. This Registration card reserves your place for the Summer and/or the 2018-19 School Year classes. 

 

 CD’s are being sent home with all students as they become available.  Please use them to practice!  If your CD doesn’t work or you are unable to use it, PLEASE let me know immediately! 

 

All unpaid balances are due in full.  There is a $10.00 late fee added to any remaining balance.

 

RECITAL PREPARATION CLINIC   Thursday, April 19 at 6:00 pm

With the Recital season upon us, I realize that most of you have questions concerning costuming, hair, makeup, pictures, etc.  This clinic will address all of your questions.

I will show you the What, When, and How’s of applying make up to your child’s face.  I will show you how to put their hair in a bun, (Buns are required for EVERYONE in Recital.) how to attach hats and headpieces, and answer any questions you might have about preparing your child for the stage.  All of this is very quick, easy, and painless if you know what to do.

This Clinic is free.  I highly recommend that all Moms attend - especially Class Parents and anyone doing this for the first time.  Even if you are a Recital veteran, you might still have questions or learn a new trick to make Recital Day easier.  Children are not required to come with you.  You may come by yourself or bring your child if you plan to experiment on them as we go along.  Wear comfortable clothes as we may be sitting on the floor. 

 

A sign-up sheet is posted on the bulletin board.  You must sign up in advance.  Clinic dates and times are subject to change or cancel depending on the number of participates registered. 

 

More about Bunheads – Everyone should have their hair in a bun for Recital.  Now I know some of you are saying – “My child doesn’t have long enough hair for a bun.” (It really takes less hair than you think).  I realize this, and if your child has very short hair, I will give you alternatives for hair that will work. 

Having everyone’s hair up looks extremely neat and polished and uniform for the stage; it works better with hats and headpieces; it is so quick and easy and will save you time and money on Recital Day.

 

OPEN HOUSE is on Saturday, April 21st from 12 to 2 PM. This will also serve as REGISTRATION for new students registering for Summer Classes and Camps. We will have dance demonstrations by our Dance Team, prize drawings and our tuition drawing from the pre-registration cards, refreshments, and more.  Everyone is invited but you do not have to present to win prizes – only a paid Pre-registration card!  I will be giving $25 credit for referrals of new students who register and list you as a referral.  Make sure you come and bring your friends to register on April 21st.  

 

 

RECITAL PICTURES will be taken at the Dance School on Friday, April 27th, 2018.  An appointment sheet will be posted on the bulletin board starting Saturday April 7th.  Jim Haley Photography will be taking pictures again this year.  Pictures will be taken in your Recital Costume/Costumes for the 2018 Picture Composite to hang in the waiting room.  No purchase is necessary to have your picture taken but picture packages are available for purchase on Picture Day.  You will be able to see your photos and pick your picture package that very day!  Cash, Check and Credit Cards will be accepted. 

 

 

RECITAL DAY is Saturday, May 12, 2018.  Dress Rehearsal is at 10:00 a.m. and show time is 7:00 p.m.  Both are held at The Grand Opera House.  Recital volunteers are needed for jobs before, during, and after Recital.  See Cindy for more information.  Please help!  Class Parents, I am already depending on you to work backstage with your child’s class.  If you are not going to work, please let me know immediately.  The May Bulletin will have a detailed schedule of that day.

A ticket is required in order to be part of the Recital audience. Everyone, no matter what age, will need to purchase a ticket.  (Dancers and backstage help do NOT need a ticket)

 

VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT RECITAL TICKETS – The Grand Opera House has taken over all of their event ticket sales. Tickets will cost $8.00. You can purchase your tickets at the box office in advance, by phone, or online (which I don’t recommend because it costs more/additional $1.75per ticket) or at the box office the day of Recital during dress rehearsal and before show time (Don’t recommend waiting until the last minute because we have sold out in the past).  Tickets will also be available at the dance school starting April 27th.  Cash or Check ONLY (Make checks out to The Grand Opera House) $8.00 each.  Ticket money cannot be added with any other Dance School payment. 

 

The Recital will be professionally taped this year by my former student and dear friend, Emily Alford Harp.  Emily is a professional videographer and has a company called Shining Star Media.  She has produced Recital in the past, many times and I am SO glad she is coming back this year.  An order form will be in your May Bulletin. (DVD $35.00 and Blu Ray 40.00)

 

 

Recital is in 5 weeks!! A good show depends on good attendance. Don’t miss class!

The school term ends on May 12, 2018.  No classes after Recital.

Summer classes will be June 11th – July 25th, 2018. 

Princess Camp (ages 3-6) will be June 4th – 8th

You don’t want to miss out on Princess Camp! If you checked any Summer Camps and/or classes on your Registration Card, I will send you notice with class times and tuition amount before Recital.  Your summer class tuition will be due by the first day of class.  If you are signing up for Princess Camp, a deposit of ½ will be due before Recital with the balance payable the 1st day of camp.
